Searching for a Contact record in CIS
This guide is designed to outline the steps required to search for a contact record in CIS.
Click ‘Find Contacts’ in the Toolbar and the following window will pop up:
You can search for a contact record in several ways, using:
- Contact number
- Postcode
- Forename
- Surname
- Email address
- Phone number
The more information you provide in the search criteria, the more accurate/relevant your results will be.
For example, if you are searching for a person with a common name such as Smith, it is advised to add more information to the search such as Postcode or Email address so that only relevant results are returned and not every record where the surname is Smith
Wildcards
If you only know partial contact details, you can fill it in with an asterisk (*). For example, if you only have a partial phone number, you could type in 02083435* and it would search for all phone numbers with that beginning. This wildcard feature applies for each field in the search criteria above
